Prints published by Kato Junji: Kawase Hasui

Around 1930, these twelve prints were commissioned by the Haibara Fan Shop from the publisher Kato Junji. The original folder opening resembled the shape of a fan. The edition size for each print was 200, and the first edition prints have a numbered seal on the reverse. In 1988, Hasui's fan prints were reprinted in a limited edition of 200 prints. This second edition was commissioned by Hasui's daughter from the publisher Tokyo Takahashi Kobo and have much wider margins than the original prints.
